After a childhood in academia, J. Daniel Sawyer declared his independence by dropping out of high school and setting off on a series of adventures in the bowels of the film industry, the venture capital culture of silicon valley, surfing safaris, bohemians, burners, historians, theologians, adventurers, climbers, drug dealers, gangbangers, and inventors before his past finally caught up to him. Trapped in a world bookended by one wall falling in Berlin and other walls going up around suburbia and along national borders throughout the world, he rediscovered his deep love of history and, with it, and obsession with predicting the future as it grew aggressively out of the past. To date, this obsession has yielded over thirty books and innumerable short stories, the occasional short film, nearly a dozen podcasts stretching over a decade and a half, and a career creating novels and audiobooks exploring the world through the lens of his own peculiar madness, in the depths of his own private forest in a rural exile, where he uses the quiet to write, walk on the beach, and manage a production company that brings innovative stories to the ears of audiences across the world. Predestination, Episode 2

Download Subscribe
The second episode of the Antithesis series is now live, and the adventures of Joss Kyle, Alyssa Hartman, Jim Hartman, and Alex Hart continue.

Uber-Nemesis Tee Morris is with us this week, bringing us The Story So Far. If you didn’t do so already, check out his book The Case of the Pitcher’s Pendant at and buy or listen to his previous books at Amazon and Podiobooks. This is the guy that invented the podcast audiobook – without him, the rest of us wouldn’t be here.

Finally, what would the episode be without our capable cast?

Cast this week (in order of appearance):

Erin Ballibanian as Ali

Brian Levy as Jim

Don’t mind the dust…

You’ve stumbled upon the blog for the Antithesis series – currently the host of the podcast of the first book in that series, Predestination and Other Games of Chance. Right now things are a bit spartan – please don’t mind the look. We’re putting the finishing touches on the web design and artwork, but didn’t want to make you wait for the podcast just because I’m an obsessive-compulsive visual arts nut.

Feel free to comment here, and do check back from time to time over the next two weeks as we get the rest of the content in place and put up the pretty pictures.

Welcome one and all!
-Dan Sawyer

Prequel: The Man in the Rain

Want a preview of what happened to Joss Kyle before he walked on to Space Station Sidon? Here you are. This is an episode of my short story series Sculpting God, written specifically for the launch of Predestination. Dark, violent, moody, and set in the Amazon jungle – you can’t get better than this!
